about us

1st United Credit Union (1st USCU) is a full service, not for profit financial institution. Our history dates back to 1932, and has the distinction of being one of the first credit union in the State of California. We offer our members some of the most competitive products and services in the market, and deliver them in a way that is simpler, faster and friendlier.

In 2001, 1st United Credit Union became a community chartered credit union, which opened our memberships to anyone that lives, works or attends school in the Alameda or Contra Costa counties. We offer our members over nine branches in the east bay California area and over thirty thousand nationwide surcharge free ATM locations through the CO-OP Network. Our main office is conveniently located here in Pleasanton.

A membership with 1st United Credit Union entitles you to share as a ''financial partner.'' Rather than paying stockholders, credit unions return earnings to members in the form of higher dividends and lower loan rates. This means you can enjoy low cost loans and higher yields on savings and investment options.
